            Youth Written and Video Competition

Dear Youth and Young Adults,

Thank you for your interest in our Youth Written and Video Competition.

The Spring 2021 Written and Video Competition is now CLOSED. The topic of this semester is Poverty.

Poverty in Palm Beach County is a serious concern with over 60,000 children living in abject poverty. The purpose of the written and video competition is to give our youth the opportunity to tell us how they would “solve poverty” in Palm Beach County.

This is a creative competition: you can write, sing, dance, rap, present poetry, submit a graphic novel, anything you like.
There will be one winner in the written competition and one winner in the video competition. Winners will receive prizes such as gift cards, ability to implement your idea, and media coverage.

If you are interested in submitting written material or video, please read the instructions here.

In addition to submitting content, we are also looking for a handful of youth volunteers that are interested in scoring the content.

Volunteers interested in scoring content are ineligible to win prizes. They must be available to review all content submitted prior to meeting with the whole committee. The committee will consist of both youth and adult volunteers. The scoring committee meeting will take place sometime after May 2nd, depending on the number of submissions we have. The scoring will take place after school hours to fit your schedule. You will receive community service hours for participating in the scoring.

If you are interested in sitting on the scoring committee, please email Jodie Boisvert at JBoisver@PBCGov.Org
